Siemens S7
Siemens S7, native, without WinCC or OPC servers
Siemens controllers dominate European factory floors. ScadaHud connects directly to S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 over the S7 protocol, no OPC server, no WinCC license, no per-PowerTag pricing.
What is Siemens S7?
The S7 protocol (also called RFC 1006 / ISO-on-TCP) is Siemens proprietary protocol for SIMATIC controllers. It runs over TCP port 102 and exposes data blocks (DBs), inputs (I), outputs (Q), markers (M), timers (T), counters (C) and process image. ScadaHud uses S7netplus, the de-facto open-source S7 client library, to read and write these areas directly from controllers programmed in TIA Portal, without an intermediate OPC server.
What ScadaHud's driver supports
- S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLC families
- Read and write data blocks (DB), inputs (I), outputs (Q), markers (M)
- Bool, Byte, Word, DWord, Int, DInt, Real, LReal, String
- Optimized block access for S7-1500 with PUT/GET enabled
- Configurable rack and slot per connection
- Auto-reconnect on connection loss
Common use cases
- Manufacturing OEE monitoring on Siemens-standardized lines
- Energy monitoring from S7-based substation gateways
- Replacing WinCC Runtime with a web-native UI on top of S7
- Bridging S7 data to MQTT or REST for cloud integration
Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-200 SMART, LOGO! 8 (with S7 server enabled).
